#PODCAST @CASACZA say there's no basis for the EFF's corruption charges against Minister Pravin Gordhan

By Newsbreak Producer Taresh Harreeparshad - "Even in an innocent context, Minister Pravin Gordhan should not have raised the issue of Judge Dhaya Pillay's interview." That's according to Lawson Naidoo, executive secretary of the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC). Yesterday, Minister Gordhan issued a statement saying that he did not meet Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng to discuss Judge Pillay in 2016 - however in passing, he did refer to Judge Pillay's interview with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). This follows the Chief Justice's comments this week, claiming that Gordhan had called his office in an attempt to inquire about how Judge Pillay performed at previous commission interviews.
