3 Dec Looking at the role of the Judiciary, its powers and how its executing its mandate

Last month Chief Justice, Mogoeng Mogoeng, outlined a list of the judicial system's needs for it to be able to function at full capacity, when he was presenting the annual report on Judicial Functions for the 2017/18 financial year, at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg. Chief Justice Mogoeng stated that the country's judiciary system is underfunded - compared to the other two arms of the state. We are now in conversation with Chief Justice, Mogoeng Mogoeng to look at the role of the Judiciary, how it uses its power and authority and how it is performing the tasks that the state endowed to this arm.
