President Cyril Ramaphosa is scheduled to reply to the debate on his State of the Nation Address later today. Over the past two days MPs debated a range of issues, including the state of State Owned Enterprises - power utility Eskom in particular - as well as health and education systems, economic growth and unemployment. During the first day's debate accusations about women abuse nearly derailed the sitting. ANC MP Boy Mamobolo accused Julius Malema of abusing his wife. While he denied it, Malema in turn accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of having abused his late ex-wife, Nomazizi Mtshotshisa. Malema refused to withdraw the statement and was forced to leave the house. His entire caucus followed him.
