GORMLEY - MARK VON SCHELLWITZ - OCTOBER 15
The restaurant industry is looking for help from Saskatchewan's provincial government. According to Restaurants Canada, most food-service establishments in Saskatchewan still aren't profitable, with 48% operating at a loss and 28% just breaking even. The industry group is calling on the province to support a number of recovery measures, including an extension of the Saskatchewan Small Business Emergency Payment program, reintroduction of the PST exemption on restaurant meals, and permanent continuation of alcohol sales with takeout and delivery orders. Mark von Schellwitz is the organization's VP for Western Canada, and he joins Gormley to tell us more.
