Christoph Sauser, Karl Platt & Jan Braai Talk the ABSA Cape Epic

MTB Talk SA was down at the 2014 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour this past weekend and caught up with a couple of the best mountain bikers on the planet today as well as a braailete who  is taking on his first Epic. Ariane Kleinhans Talks Absa Cape Epic Money& Stop Numbness on your Mountain Bike

Hlubi Moya to take on the Epic & the Durban Dirt Challenge with Damian Bradley

ABSA Cape Epic Route Launched, Joel Stransky&Stefan; Terblanche,

We have a jam packed show for you this week on MTB Talk SA. The route for the 2014 ABSA Cape Epic was announced this week and we have the following for you on this week’s show:Brad Brown caught up with former Springboks Joel Stransky and Stefan Terblanche, who are both riding as part of Team ABSA in 2014. Joel has completed four, so knows exactly what he is in for, while Stefan is riding his first Epic in 2014.Brad spoke with William Mokgopo from the Diepsloot Mountain Bike Academy, who is riding in his third ABSA Cape Epic and he told Brad about how he got into the sport of mountain biking. Shan Wilson, Old Mutual Joberg2c’s Craig Wapnick on the Tread Buffalo Category

We have chatted extensively over the last few weeks about the 2013 Mountain Bike World Championships that took place at the Cascades in Pietermaritzburg and over the last few weeks one name kept on popping up. So much so, that we decided to get him on this week’s show. On Episode 9 of MTB Talk SA: We caught up with Shan Wilson. Shan won silver in his race at the MTB worlds but came off his bike in the race and in the process dislocated his jaw, broke a rib and lost two teeth! Brad asked Shan what went through his mind straight after the crash and when he realised he had done some serious damage. Shan also told us about the early days of professional mountain biking in South Africa as well as what he still hopes to achieve. Greg Minnaar winning the Downhill at the UCI World Mountain Bike Championships

The 2013 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships have concluded in Pietermaritzburg and I don’t know about you, but I feel kind of deflated. It has been such a long build up to the event, the excitement, the anticipation and now it is all over.
