“Will The PSL Step In?”

This week has had some interesting outbreaks of news revolving around the local game. Royal AM and Cippa United were set to partake in a PSL Playoff fixture, however, a few moments before the game was set to commence, Royal AM started boycotting and eventually left the stadium, forcing forfeit. Causing huge controversy, it has now come out that Royal AM owner, Shauwn Mkhize, has said that she and the team will honour the playoff against Chippa. Speaking on the Carwash, Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates star, Teko Modise says “Will they be punished and pay for damages?” This news has caused many mixed feelings around South Africa, with some agreeing with Mkhiizes’ decision and some not so much. “It’s good to see people standing up for what they believe in,” says Teko Modise.
Another big talking point coming out of the last week is that Helman Mkhalele has announced his selected team for the upcoming COSAFA Cup, set to begin in Gqeberha, in July. Bafana Bafana has been drawn in a group with Botswana, Lesotho, and Eswatini, when speaking on the matter, former Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns goalie, Sean Roberts expresses that “although the group may seem easy, it puts pressure on Bafana and we all know what happens to Bafana under pressure.”

In the latest episode of SL Podcast’s “The Carwash” Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Teko Modise and former Ajax Cape Town & Downs goalie Sean Roberts discuss the CAF Champions League Semi-finals second leg fixtures with Kaizer Chiefs sitting in a somewhat comfortable position, the selected squad for Bafana, who will feature at the COSAFA Cup in July, as well as the boycotting that was done by Shauwn Mkhize and Royal AM.
