Do not ignore Sars' auto assessment - Tax specialist

Chartered account and international tax specialist at Allan Gray, Komil Gordhan, says its important not to ignore the South African Revenue Service's (Sars') auto assessment this tax season. Gordhan who was speaking to the OFM Business Hour over one month after tax season commenced says ignoring the auto assessment will result in Sars making an estimated assessment using the information on system on a citizen's behalf and this could result in one losing out on an important rebate from the revenue service.
