A lot of publications in Zimbabwe have been running with reports around how the South African government will soon announce a decision on the renewal of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permits (ZEP) for the nearly 180 000 Zimbabweans based in South Africa.

In this podcast, Complexion and Mpho Mashita talk to Bongani Mazwi Mkhwanazi from Zim-Community SA, about the issues around the permits renewal and how this has sparked a contentious debate.

On Friday (5 November 2021), Zim-Community SA released a statement to its members as well as Zimbabweans that they represent, in which they encouraged them to stay calm and not be anxious about the hashtags and the different debates that have flared up about the stay of Zimbabweans in South Africa!
