It was a week full of rough sees in local and global markets last week as the JSE all share gave back -1.84% for the week. Monday's panic selling doing most of the damage.
Inflation fears, and interest rate hikes set the scene for selloffs in growth counters, aided by the Ukraine-Russia standoff, which sent panic rippling through energy sector, as oil & gas prices rocket higher and Sasol ended the week just over 10% up.
Data out on Sunday showed China's factory activity slowed in January as a resurgence of COVID-19 cases and tough lockdowns hit production and demand.
The standoff over Ukraine remains a thorn in the market's side, with concerns a Russian invasion would also cut vital gas supplies to western Europe.
