Parliamentary committee, Mpofu clash over resumption of Mkhwebane inquiry

The parliamentary committee conducting an inquiry into suspended public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s fitness to hold office and her legal counsel fought over the resumption of proceedings.
Mkhwebane’s legal team, led by advocate Dali Mpofu, was unhappy about the inquiry resuming as it has not been paid by the public protector's office. It was also unhappy about witness Bianca Mvuyana not making an affidavit. Mpofu asked Mvuyana if she had opted not to make an affidavit as communicated to the legal team and she denied not wanting to make an affidavit.
A shouting match ensued between Mpofu, chairperson Qubudile Dyantyi and some MPs.
