In the Durban High Court last Friday, Judge Masipa dismissed KwaDukuza Municipality's request to appeal her decision, which prohibits the continuation of a disciplinary inquiry initiated by KDM against its Chief Financial Officer, Shamir Rajcoomar. The dismissal was influenced by Rajcoomar's simultaneous filing of two review applications against the municipality. The Judge determined it prudent to await the results of these reviews before moving forward with the disciplinary inquiry.
