Cyber-attacks: SA has decent regulatory frameworks, but enforcement is lacking

South Africa has decent regulatory frameworks in place that respond to cyber-attacks, however, there is a lack of enforcement making the country a soft target. Ridwaan Boda, the head of Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Law at ENS Africa tells the OFM Business Hour that the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the Cybercrimes Act are measures meant to deal with hacks like the one at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), however, there is a lack of training and awareness on the issue.
