Elections 2024 : Episode 15 : South Africans are voting abroad

The Electoral Commission is reporting a smooth start to special voting abroad.

Special voting took place in Algiers, Amman, Cairo, Damascus, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Ramallah, Riyad, and Teheran on Friday with voting taking place at the remaining 102 foreign Commissions today and tomorrow.

Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo says due to a larger voter population in London South Africans will be voting today and tomorrow between 7am and 9 pm.

Extended voting hours are also in place for Washington DC and New York.
