"These cars are 45 years old": A convoy of classic Mercedes saloons heads for Cairo

A group of classic Mercedes enthusiasts are busy with the last round of preparations before setting off on an epic drive to Cairo.

The "Cape2Cairo" expedition will see half a dozen 40-year-old Merc saloons set off on the long road to Egypt in September.

The drivers have been busy with test runs including an 8 000 kilometre journey to Luanda as they get their Mercs ready for the ambitious journey.
