The Ward 6 election in Ballito yesterday was won by the DA with 1364 votes to just 18 votes cast for the ANC. Early indications are that there was an extremely low turnout at the polls with an initial estimate of just 30%. Although this is a victory for the DA candidate Ayabonga Zwane, doesthe low percentage poll indicate local voter apathy and dissatisfaction with the process or candidates put forward for election to public office?
