TCOB: New Employment Code Tackles SA's Job Crisis

The Department of Employment and Labour has introduced amendments to the Code of Good Practice on Dismissals, aiming to reduce South Africa’s 31.9% unemployment rate.

The proposed code simplifies dismissal processes, particularly for small businesses by reducing the procedural burden during the initial three-month employment period and allowing informal disciplinary procedures.

We spoke to Geoffrey Allsop, who is an Associate at Pinsent Masons on how these amendments will assist small businesses.
