At just 17 years old, Kamogelo’s life changed forever when a tragic car accident left him paralysed from the neck down. But what hasn’t changed is his determination, his spirit, and his dream of finishing school and regaining his independence.

In this emotional Hot Cares story, we visit Kamogelo at Mediclinic Muelmed’s Rehabilitation Unit to hear first-hand how he’s faced this journey — from multiple surgeries and months on a ventilator, to cardiac arrest and an incredible recovery.

With the help of his therapy team, including occupational therapist Candice Smith, Kamogelo has shown courage beyond his years. Now, with the gift of a custom-built motorised wheelchair, he finally has the chance to move freely and reclaim his future.
