With just over 180 km left to Cape Town, Nicole Liedemann Telukram is on Day 29 of her epic 1,800 km walk from Johannesburg — a journey of resilience, love, and advocacy for the rare disease community.
Currently in Touwsrivier, Nicole is closing in on the final stretch of a mission she began to raise awareness for Dercum’s Disease, a rare and painful condition affecting her husband, Shaun (also known as Sathish). He is one of only four people formally diagnosed with the disease in South Africa.
