The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) leadership has decided to redeploy its Secretary- General (SG) Floyd Shivambu to Parliament.
The party made the announcement at its media briefing in Durban on Tuesday.
Last week, Colleen Makhubele succeeded Mzwanele Manyi, who was removed as the Chief Whip of the MK Party in Parliament.
Shivambu has welcomed the redeployment.
He confirmed that national officials have taken the decision which he fully accepts as a disciplined member of MKP.
“We have been deployed to the National Assembly. We will continue to play the role of advancing the agenda and program of MK. It has been an invaluable role that we have played in a humbling experience. We have been assigned by the president and we want to thank him for leading the program of unification of all the progressive forces in South Africa that is the agenda that we are going to pursue,” says Shivambu
