As South Africa commemorates Youth Month, the terror of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF) looms large over the country as countless young women and children fall victim to unthinkable crimes on a daily basis. Some youth in South Africa have said that there’s nothing to celebrate because they continue to face unimaginable amounts of violence in the hands of people they love with little to no justice.
