A heart-wrenching video has been making the rounds on social media — a young boy, visibly wounded by abandonment, says words that hit like a punch to the chest:
“I never knew my father, so my child is also going to suffer. Why should they get to have the experience of having a father when I never had one?”
It’s a raw expression of generational pain — one that echoes in the lives of many men across South Africa and beyond. His voice, though young, speaks for countless boys and men who grew up without the guidance, love, or presence of a father. But what makes the clip even more painful is the resolution he’s already made: to pass that pain on.
