The Gauteng Social Development MEC Faith Mazibuko has announced two
weeks of reprieve for Non-Profit Organisations funding applications. The old
closing date of 15 October has been moved to 30 October 2025.
MEC Mazibuko made the announcement today at Orlando Communal Hall in
Soweto after concluding her quarterly meeting with NPOs throughout the
province. “During the engagements, some NPOs requested an extension
because they have faced technical challenges with our new online application
system, and we want to assure the sector that we are addressing these
system challenges”, the MEC said and also advised that alternatively the
applications can be email to NPOApplications.Socdev@gauteng.gov.za

Mazibuko added that the Department was committed to supporting Non-
Profit Organisations (NPOs) in accessing funding. Smart online applications
will also continue to be implemented as the department is going paperless.
MEC added that beyond applications stage, NPOs will be expected to file
their monthly reports and compliance documents through the online system.
