The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has been investigating allegations of
corruption, political interference, and misconduct within the South African
Police Service (SAPS) for several months. The Commission is examining
whether senior police officials have been improperly influenced by political
figures or business interests.
This week, the story has taken a new turn. A witness identified as “Witness A”
testified that EFF leader Julius Malema has close ties to Shadrack Sibiya, the
suspended deputy national police commissioner, and a Sandton businessman,
ZE Nxumalo, who is linked to mining interests in the North West province.
