IN CONVERSATION WITH MLUNGISI NKOSI ON SCIENCE WISE

Loading player...
In a country where Maths and Science often stand as
barriers to success, Mlungisi Nkosi has positioned himself as one of
South Africa’s most inspiring education innovators. Born and raised
in Roodepoort, Gauteng, Mlungisi’s own experiences as a student
who once struggled with Maths shaped his passion for making these
subjects more accessible to others.
He is the founder of the Mlungisi Nkosi Maths and Science Centre,
an initiative dedicated to improving learner performance in critical
STEM subjects while equipping them with the skills needed for the
future world of work. What sets his centre apart is its integrated
approach, combining traditional teaching with coding, robotics, and
entrepreneurship to help learners see the connection between
science, technology, and real-world innovation.
Beyond the classroom, Mlungisi uses his YouTube channel and
social media platforms to make Maths and Science engaging for
learners who might not have access to extra lessons. His online
tutorials, delivered in an approachable and energetic style, have
reached thousands across the country, turning complex concepts
into relatable, enjoyable learning experiences.
Under his leadership, the centre has produced learners who’ve gone
on to pursue degrees in engineering, computer science, and
medicine, a clear testament to his belief that no child should be
limited by their circumstances when it comes to learning STEM.
Today, Mlungisi Nkosi represents a new generation of South African
educators who blend passion, technology, and purpose to shape the
innovators and problem-solvers of tomorrow.
