Youth organisation Care Reach Connect is driving initiatives that benefit communities by addressing social cohesion, wellness, and intergenerational engagement. One of their upcoming projects is a 5km Fun Walk for elderly residents in Mamelodi, organised in partnership with the Peu Entle Senior Citizen Club.

Scheduled for 25 March 2026, the event aims to promote physical activity, social interaction, and active aging among senior citizens, while providing a platform for young people to engage meaningfully with older generations. Through this initiative, Care Reach Connect demonstrates how youth-led programmes can enhance the well-being of vulnerable groups, encourage volunteerism, and foster stronger community networks.

The walk highlights collaborative problem-solving and social responsibility, showing that youth can play an instrumental role in addressing societal challenges beyond their own peer group. Activities like this strengthen empathy, intergenerational dialogue, and civic engagement, and showcase practical ways young people can contribute to social development at the grassroots level.
