SA Farmers Face Soaring Tariffs and Weak Grid Despite End of Load-Shedding

With soaring tariffs, deteriorating distribution infrastructure, and policies that discourage independent power generation, the cost and reliability of electricity have emerged as growing threats to agricultural profitability, food security, and export competitiveness. According to Chris Yelland, an energy analyst at EE Business Intelligence, the problem is no longer electricity generation. Instead, the crisis has shifted to the affordability of electricity.
