WhatsApp is introducing a long-awaited feature that will let users schedule messages to be sent at a chosen date and time.

The tool is currently available to some Android beta testers, with a wider rollout expected in the coming weeks.

The feature will work in both individual and group chats.

Users will be able to schedule text messages, links, photos and videos, even if their phone is offline when the message is due to be sent. Scheduled messages will remain protected by WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.
