There is a renewed sense of belief in the Flexbrands Knights camp after the team finally got their 2026/27 domestic season up and running with a much-needed victory in the Pro20 Cup.
The Knights have endured a torrid start to life back in Division 1 following their Division 2 treble last season. However, they finally had something to celebrate after producing a dominant performance to beat Emerging South Africa by 54 runs at the High-Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria.
While the result provided a welcome boost, Knights coach JP Triegaardt acknowledged that the campaign had been a difficult one for the Bloemfontein-based side. Nevertheless, he believes the challenges of competing in the top flight have provided valuable lessons as the team prepares for its upcoming four-day and one-day campaigns.
