A legal expert doubts South Africa will pull out of the International Criminal Court following yesterday's Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) ruling in the Omar Al-Bashir saga.
The SCA dismissed the State's appeal against a High Court ruling that government's failure to arrest the Sudanese President was inconsistent with its constitutional duties.
Malcolm Lutge says South Africa was obliged to arrest Al-Bashir because of the country's ICC membership. The ICC wants him to stand trial for crimes against humanity, genocide and war crimes in Darfur.
