No individual, including Zuma, is above the ANC: Mantashe

ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe says nobody, including President Jacob Zuma, is above the party. Mantashe answered a question about Zuma being above the organisation and having cost the party voters during a media briefing at the party’s headquarters following Zuma's live television address regarding the Nkandla saga. Mantashe said the ANC is not a party that revolves around leaders, but rather focuses on what the party wants. He said nobody can say Zuma is above the ANC. Mantashe held the press briefing to show that the party put its weight behind Zuma following the Constitutional Court ruling on the Nkandla matter, which found he had failed to uphold and protect the Constitution.
