Codes of conduct are binding and will be enforced: IEC

Political parties that sign the Code of Conduct for the upcoming national municipal election on August 3 will have to watch their step.

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) says it will not hesitate to enforce the rules that go with the code, adding that action will be taken.

OFM News' Andre Grobler reports that the IEC held a meeting in Bloemfontein today where representatives of the IEC, National Prosecuting Authority, SA Police Service, Public Protector and the Electoral Court spoke with parties on what the Code of Conduct means.
