A Potchefstroom police officer and three co-accused will find out on Monday whether they have been granted bail.
Constable Pule Maboke appeared yesterday alongside David Mbata, Paulo Moferefere and Steven Lebepe on charges of conspiring to murder a police officer who was investigating a housebreaking and attempted murder case against them. A new investigator, Hanlie Blignaut, has since been assigned to the case. She testified in court why the men should not be granted bail.
Maboke and his co-accused have been connected with up to 20 cases of burglary, theft and robbery in Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp and Viljoenskroon.
OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that Blignaut told the court it would not be in the interests of justice, should the men be granted bail.
