DA leader, Mmusi Maimane, has announced that the party's taking disciplinary action against Helen Zille for her controversial tweets on colonialism.
Maimane addressed the media in Cape Town earlier this afternoon.
Zille's responded to the move by tweeting that she will abide by the DA's process and the rule of law.
The Western Cape Premier was only made aware of the DA's intention to bring disciplinary action against her through the briefing and the media, before later receiving a notification from the party.
Maimane says it's been a tough decision to take action against Zille.
