The heckling and booing of President Jacob Zuma which led to the cancellation of labour federation Cosatu's Worker's Day rally has been hailed as a turning point in the battle against Zuma and his allies.
Zuma, who was meant to deliver the keynote address, left Lock Logan Park on Monday without addressing the masses after the rally was disrupted by a group of Nehawu and NUM members singing struggle songs and chanting Zuma Must Fall. Cosatu later cancelled all political speeches.

Free State ANC spokesperson, Thabo Meeko, says the party is disappointed by how the event turned out. He says the members who disrupted the President were not from the Free State and were deployed by opposition parties. He says they are certain that Cosatu members within the Free State understand and honour the relationship between the ANC, Cosatu and the SACP.
