DA welcomes Zuma court ruling

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says its application to review the rationality of President Jacob Zuma's decision to reshuffle his Cabinet can now proceed. This after yesterday's high court ruling instructing Zuma to hand over documents he used to justify his Cabinet reshuffle in March. The DA's James Selfe said the record of decision should also contain the now infamous ‘intelligence report’ which the court can fully interrogate.

The DA approached the court with an urgent application after Zuma axed several ministers including former finance minister Pravin Gordhan and deputy finance minister Mcebisi Jonas. The ANC meanwhile says the executive should consider appealing the ruling.
