#Knysnafires contained

All the fires in the Eden District have been contained overnight. This following several flare ups over the weekend due to strong winds. The municipality confirmed earlier that the fires had claimed a seventh life. It's understood that assesments are expected to start today to determine the total number of damaged infrastructure.

Western Cape local government spokesperson James-Brent Styan says today's plan is to ensure that mop up operations continue and that further flare-ups are prevented.
