BFN City Hall fire: Police monitoring the situation

the three people arrested will face charges of either public violence or arson. Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, said Public Order Police members had to use rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse disgruntled Samwu members who were attending a meeting at City Hall. Makhele says the fire which gutted City Hall was extinguished at about 22:30 last night. Police have been monitoring the situation throughout the night.

Makhele says no other arrests have been made. He is also not aware of other property in the CBD that was looted.
