From the 10th to the 18th of November this year an exciting new piano festival will be taking place for the first time in South Africa, having visited many other countries over the past 10 years. The Festival is called Les Amateurs Virtuoses and is emphatically not a competition. The award winning pianists taking part are all amateur musicians who mostly have other professional jobs. On People of Note this week, Rodney Trudgeon will be talking to the Artistic Director of the Festival Julien Kurtz, himself a professional concert pianist.
