The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal says its Disaster Management Teams and programmes will be enhanced in the coming months to deal with the effects of climate change. The department says it is preparing for possible increases in flooding, severe thunderstorms and lightning this summer.
