NC man gets handed double life sentence for rape and murder

Police in the Barkly West welcomed the double life sentence that was handed down today at the Northern Cape High Court as a 28 year old man who was found guilty of rape and murder. This is according to police spokesperson in the province, Sergio Kock, who told OFM News that Jacob Esel received a life sentence for murder, another for rape and a further 12 and 5 years imprisonment respectively for attempted murder of a family member of the victim and violation of a corpse. OFM News’ Pulane Choane reports that Kock said the sentences will run concurrently and follow after the accused committed these crimes last year.
