‘Sarafina’ initiative launched for safer schooling

The Free State Education Department in the district municipality of Thabo Mofutsanyana believes that the newly launched ‘Sarafina’ initiative will bring learners under control.
This project is based on the iconic struggle film and play – ‘Sarafina’, which is centred on the Soweto Uprisings.
Auditions were held last weekend and a meeting was set up with parents at Phuthaditjhaba in Qwaqwa yesterday.
Speaking to OFM News about what is expected from this project in schools, the deputy director of special programme and transformation, Thabiso Motsoeneng, says more are on the way.
