VOW FM 88.1 — Wits Radio Academy — Siv and Ant sat down and spoke to Her Mind seminar co-ordinator and 4th year social work student Nyameka Mbonambi. In recent years South African Universities have made news headlines due to the increasing numbers of suicides and attempted suicides amongst students. In 2018 at least 23 suicide attempts were reported in one of South Africa’s larger universities. The Her Mind seminar was an opportunity to open a dialogue on mental wellness on the various Wits Campuses.The event was part of a Social Work community development project hosted under the Counselling and Careers Development Unit (CCDU).
