South Africa's mining output recovered from a record low in May with production ticking up 44% month-on-month. The improvement is due to government's decision to ease Covid-19 lockdown restrictions to level four during the period as this allowed more producers to come back online. On an annual base, however, output slumped 29.8%. Business Day TV unpacked the data in detail with Henk de Hoop from RMB.
