Interesting interviews, fascinating stories, that’s what makes podcasts interesting. And as a seasoned interviewer living in South Africa but having visited over 80 countries and meeting many people on that journey, I have the perfect platform to get the best out of them.

I have been publishing magazines since 2000 and on radio since 1998.

Debates, interviews and just stories, this channel has them all. Enjoy each one for what they are designed to be. Entertaining, heartfelt, inspiring and sometimes hard to hear. SA Commuter Radio is the platform now to listen to not only my interviews but those of other presenters. Tune in now to listen.

Robert Forsythe and Andre Wederpohl - Hobby Historians

Hobby historians, Robert Forsythe and Andre Wederpohl, traced the soldiers journey and battles from the West of Johannesburg close to the Cradle of Humankind, through to Paul Krugers' Farm in Boekenhoutfontein, where Robert purchased the farm and created Kedar Lodge.

I caught up with them at Misty Hills, Conference Hotel and Spa, and had a live history lesson, which we carried through many of the activities in the area. Including Bill Harrops Balloons where we flew over the battlefields, and at the Bothongo Rhino and Lion Park in the Wonder Caves where the Italians worked during the war.

Bill & Mary Harrop - Up Up and Away

Bill Harrop has been on the South African tourism landscape for many years and is an iconic representation of a family business built on a solid foundation with great vision. I took the opportunity of interviewing Bill in one of his balloons, high up in the Magaliesburg sky during our 36 hours in the Cradle. I was fortunate to be able to include his wife, Mary, during breakfast.

I did manage to edit the propane gas blasts into the balloon to keep us in flight!

My African Conquest - Julia Albu

Julia Albu is one of the most incredible octogenarian's you will ever hope to meet. She is full of life, and smiles and I had the privilege of interviewing her a while after her return from her epic journey across Africa and then onto England to see the Queen (who incidentally didn't have the time to see this fabulous person who had just driven in a 20 year old Toyota Conquest across Africa to see her!). Celebrate Southern Africa with Dawn Denton

What makes Southern Africans unique? Is it how we see the world? Is it the norms and values instilled in us by our parents in Africa? Is it the African ‘village’ that raised us? Is it the solid foundations our DNA give us, in a unique existence on the southern tip of the continent?

An outsider would say that Southern Africans see bright colour in everything, are proud of their culture, have rhythm in their blood, and are soulful. Most importantly we are united by our extraordinary history, our wonderful humour, warm memories and the marvels of Africa.

Dawn Denton and Geniene Preston discuss the opportunities South Africans have in the UK to make a difference in their own, unique way. Find your way to SA success here!!
