2014 Comrades Marathon Postmortem with Race Director Rowyn James

It’s been a couple of days since the 2014 Comrades Marathon and now that the proverbial dust has settled. If you ran on Sunday your legs are probably more painful today than they were yesterday.It was a pretty disappointing weekend for me. I came down with a sore throat on Saturday and then woke up on Sunday morning as sick as a dog. As difficult a decision as it was to make, I decided that I would not run feeling like that. It was just too dangerous. I run to stay healthy, not to run the Comrades Marathon. If I had run on Sunday it would have been to the detriment of my health. It was just too risky. The race will be there next year, I need to make sure I am too.I thought it would be appropriate to catch up with Comrades Marathon race director Rowyn James on this week on Run Talk SA to chat about the 89th running of this iconic race.
