In fact, the 13th edition of The World Bank's report entitled South Africa Economic Update, Building back better from Covid-19, states that “jobs have been severely impacted” adding that “by the end of 2020, the number of employed people had fallen by nearly 1.5 million.”

While many sectors have been adversely and severely affected by the lockdown measures, the IT industry is one of the most resilient.
