“Eureka” is a journey delving into artisanal mining in Kimberley. Artisanal mining refers mainly to subsistence mining and miners who are not formally employed by mining companies. The exhibition consists of artworks by Prof. Janine Allen-Spies and Dr André Rose.
The exhibition opening was led by renowned South African photographic Cedric Nunn who joins Mid-Morning Magic’s Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to talk about this interdisciplinary collaboration that is approached from the respective vantage points of the Arts and Public Health.
The Johannes Stegmann Gallery is located at the UFS Sasol Library Building in Bloemfontein and holds 150 pieces of art from various South African artists. It has, for the past three decades, hosted numerous national and international art exhibitions, student exhibitions, and social justice programmes.
Gallery hours: Monday–Friday: 08:30–16:30
