Accepting a gift may seem harmless, but it can have unintended consequences and compromise the trust and professionalism.Accepting gifts from certain clients could impact your ability to provide fair and impartial treatment. Even if you know that it would not compromise you in that way, accepting a gift can create the impression that someone who does not offer a gift will receive poorer access to or quality of care than someone who does. This is damaging to your reputation.
