Eskom is targeting the poor with load reduction, Human Rights Commission hears

The SA Human Rights Commission has heard testimony of how power utility Eskom has targeted poor communities with load reduction, crippling small businesses, and gambling with the lives of the sick. The Commission, on Monday, started hearing oral submission from affected communities in a National Investigative Inquiry into the Impact of 'Load Reduction' on Human Rights. The inquiry comes in the backdrop of growing concerns, enquiries and complaints about load reduction received from the public.
