The Proteas captain, Temba Bavuma, believes that they have as good a chance to win the World Test Championship final at Lord’s as Australia do.
There are concerns that South Africa are lacking game time, as their last Test concluded on 3 January. However, they will face the resurgent Zimbabwe in a warm-up game in England.
Some players have been playing in the English County Championship, while others are playing in the IPL.
Bavuma, who hasn’t played since early March, said they will also give themselves a chance.
